How It Works
Dog aging is not linear. Pugs, as a Small breed with a lifespan of 13-15 years, follow a size-specific aging curve. Research by Wang et al. (Cell Systems 2020) using DNA methylation shows dogs age very rapidly in year 1 then slow down. This calculator uses a size-calibrated curve that accurately reflects Pug biology.
