How It Works
Height (measured at the shoulder/withers) matures faster than weight. Puppies reach their adult height several months before they reach their adult weight — which is why a young dog can look "gangly" with long legs but a slim body before they fill out. This calculator uses size-specific height maturity curves that are slightly shorter in weeks than weight maturity curves.
A toy breed reaches adult height at around 28 weeks. A giant breed takes up to 64 weeks. The calculation divides current height by the percentage of adult height typically achieved at the current age to project the adult shoulder height.
