What Is the Dog Treat Calorie Calculator?
Calculate the calories in your dog's daily treats and see what percentage of their total daily intake treats represent.
Treats are one of the most common causes of canine obesity — yet most owners have no idea how many calories their dog's treats contain. A single Milk-Bone large biscuit contains 115 calories. A slice of cheese is 100 calories. Treats should account for no more than 10% of a dog's daily calorie intake — this calculator shows you exactly where your dog stands.
Every result is based on published veterinary research and breed-size-specific growth data — not generic averages. This tool is completely free, works instantly in your browser, and requires no account or sign-up.

How It Works
The 10% treat rule is a veterinary guideline: treats should account for no more than 10% of a dog's total daily calorie intake. Exceeding this displaces balanced nutrition from complete dog foods and contributes to obesity. RER (Resting Energy Requirement) is calculated as 70 × (body weight in kg)^0.75, and DER (Daily Energy Requirement) as RER × 1.4–1.6 for a typical adult dog.
