How It Works
This calculator works in two steps. First it calculates the actual calories in your puppy's current daily portion by multiplying grams by the food's caloric density. Then it calculates what your puppy actually needs using the age-adjusted growth factor method (RER x growth factor).
Comparing actual versus needed gives you a calorie balance — over, under, or on target. A tolerance of 10% either side is acceptable given the inherent variation in individual puppy metabolic rates. If the balance is outside that range, the calculator tells you exactly how many grams to add or remove.
